A Bluffton woman being treated Thursday for chest pains at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after hospital staff found traces of cocaine in her system and tried to make her stay at the hospital, according to a report from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The 40-year-old woman went to the hospital complaining of chest pains and tests showed she had traces of cocaine and alcohol in her system. When hospital staff recommended she stay there, the woman became upset, cursing and trying to leave with an IV drip still in her arm, according to an incident report.

The woman also cursed at deputies after they told her to call someone to take her home.

The woman continued to curse at the deputies and hospital employees, so she was arrested and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center. She was released Friday afternoon after posting a $262 bond.
