Area Goodwill presents annual awards

Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina, a nonprofit social services organization, recognized outstanding employees and others during its Shining Star Awards Banquet on May 10.

The Graduate of the Year award went to Michael Reid. Fredrick Gaillard was named Achiever of the Year. Suelene Guiles was selected for the Goodwill Works! Award. Cindy Scarborough was named the 2012 Employee of the Year, and Maghan Johnson received the 2012 Barbara Banks Customer Service Award.

C&K Systems was recognized as Goodwill's Corporate Partner of the Year. The Partnerships for People award went to Family Services, and Goodwill's Volunteer of the Year was Robert Calcote.

The organization also inducted into its hall of fame Paul Franklin, who was instrumental in creating Goodwill's first strategic plan.
