An outdoor concert at Palmetto Bluff has raised $6,200 for the Junior Jazz Foundation for scholarships, music camps and instruments.

The concert this month at the resort and gated community in Bluffton drew more than 1,000 people, according to a news release.

"We were thrilled with the turnout," said Courtney Hampson, marketing manager at Palmetto Bluff, "so much so that we have plans for an ongoing series of outdoor concerts at Palmetto Bluff throughout the summer, which we'll be announcing the details for very soon."

This was the fourth jazz concert at Palmetto Bluff put on in conjunction with Hilton Head Island's Jazz Corner, which established the Junior Jazz Foundation.
