2 charged with murder in fatal Jasper County stabbing

A 37-year-old Hardeeville man has been charged with murder after a stabbing May 8 left one man dead and another injured, according to a news release from the Ridgeland Police Department.

Michael Hightower is accused of killing 20-year-old Ridgeland resident Christopher Thomas.

Hightower allegedly tried to rob Thomas and a 54-year-old Hardeeville man on North Railroad Avenue, where the stabbing occurred.

The Hardeeville man was flown to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and was treated for stab wounds.

April Marie Little, 26 of Ridgeland was charged with attempted murder and attempted armed robbery in relation to the stabbings, according to the release.

Both Hightower and Little are being held in the Jasper County Detention Center, according to the release.

No further details have been released by the police department.
