Four Hilton Head High soccer players earn all-state recognition

sports@islandpacket.comMay 17, 2013

Four Hilton Head Island Seahawks -- two boys and two girls -- have been named to the 3-A All-State team by the S.C. High School Soccer Coaches Association.

For the boys, midfielder Chris MacMurray and forward Chip Tremarelli, both seniors, have been selected for the squad. On the girls side, senior midfielders Faith Lifer and Emily Crick were chosen.

MacMurray and Crick were both all-state last season, as well as 2012 Island Packet Players of the Year. They both were selected, along with Lifer, for last season's SCsoccer.com's Super XII squad. The trio has been selected for the S.C. United FMC roster for the Clash of the Carolinas on July 6 at Daniel Island.

MacMurray is going to Georgia Southern, while Crick and LIfer are going to Winthrop and Wofford, respectively.

Tremarelli has been selected for the North/South Soccer Classic.

The Seahawks girls team faces Eastside at 5 p.m Friday for the Class 3-A state championship. The boys will play Eastside at 3:30 p.m. Saturday for the Class 3-A championship. Both games are at Gilbert High School.
