A 34-year-old Hilton Head Island man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Friday after he crashed his pickup truck into the pond outside Coligny Plaza, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

Deputies arrested the man after finding him soaking wet and sitting near his partially submerged Ford F-150 pickup truck, according to the report.

The man told deputies he was drunk. A breathalyzer test confirmed the man had a .15 percent blood alcohol content at the time of the crash, according to the report.
