Small example of what's wrong with government

info@islandpacket.comMay 10, 2013

We love to fly the American flag at our home. Unfortunately, sun and wind shorten the life of flags and require their frequent replacement.

We've found that the best quality flags can be obtained through our congressional offices, and I recently called Sen. Tim Scott's Washington office to order two flags. I received the flag request form and returned it with my check for the exact amount -- $26.30 -- stated on the form.

I just received a call from the senator's embarrassed staffer telling me that the Keeper of the Stationery had lowered the price of the two flags by a nickle to $26.25 and could not process my request because my check was for 5 cents too much. And we wonder what's wrong with our government; the same government that will administer Obamacare and our future health care system.
