info@islandpacket.comMay 10, 2013

Beaufort Academy will host "Camp Make and Take" Monday through May 17 and May 20 through 24.

The camp, partly funded by a grant from the Beaufort Youth Initiative, will be offered at no cost to participants, according to a news release.

The camp will meet in the Beaufort Academy library at 240 Sams Point Road on Lady's Island from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and is open to all teens in northern Beaufort County, the release said.

Students will explore 3D-design software and create prototypes in plastic using a 3D printer. The hope is that the hands-on experience will inspire students to contemplate careers in design or engineering, according to the release.

Registration forms are on the school's website at www.beaufortacademy.org.
