Bluffton High teacher deserves high praise

info@islandpacket.comMay 7, 2013

Maggy Williams is the Bluffton High School teacher who likely defused what could have been a tragic day for many students, teachers, their families and our whole community.

If she does not get "Teacher of the Year" for at least the whole state, we should all be disappointed. She deserves to be recognized not just for this one incident, but also for creating an atmosphere where students feel comfortable in discussing serious issues that they are experiencing. This is a great example for teachers everywhere.
