A 14-year-old Bluffton Middle School student biking on the crosswalk of Simmonsville Road and Mustang Drive was struck by a car at 7:18 a.m., causing him to fall but not resulting in major injury, according to the Bluffton Police Department.

A news release from the department said the impact was "very minor" and the student did not have visible injuries or require emergency medical treatment.

The driver of a 2006 Chrysler who struck the student was cited for disregarding the crossing guard, the release said.
