Newspaper shows why community outstanding

info@islandpacket.comMay 6, 2013

Having been a subscriber to The Island Packet for almost 40 years, the April 28 Packet was, in my humble opinion, the most significant and poignant newspaper since the days of Jonathan Daniels and the earliest days of the Packet.

It included the wonderful story on the forming of the Town of Hilton Head Island, David Lauderdale's great column on Larry Perigo and the Headliners and the wonderful tribute to Mrs. E. G. (Peg) Robinson lll.

Were it not for the impact and influence of these great islanders and others, such as Charles and Joe Fraser, Mr. and Mrs. Norris Richardson, the Hack family and Charlotte Heinrichs, we would not be the great community that we are today. I encourage everyone to take some part in the commemoration and celebration of Hilton Head and to take a moment to say a special "thank you" to all who have made this celebration possible.
