Sea Pines Country Club expands beyond gates

Sea Pines residents have voted to change their restrictive covenants to allow those who do not own property in the gated community to join the Sea Pines Country Club, according to a news release Friday.

With this change, the club can invite those who live outside Sea Pines to join, and it can retain members who sell their property in the Hilton Head Island community.

Harbour Town boat-slip owners are now also eligible to join.

The amendment to the covenants was approved by Sea Pines Resort, Community Service Associates and the Association of Sea Pines Plantation Property Owners in a referendum conducted by the club. The measure received 92 percent approval, the release said.
