Life in Music: Zack Stiltner was a country fan since he was born. The day he come home from the hospital, his father put on "Whiskey River" by Willie Nelson. "I was hooked from the beginning," he said.

He first started playing his mother's acoustic guitar, soon graduating to his own. He grew up in Fort Mill, studied at College of Charleston then moved with his parents to Bluffton about three years ago. He started playing open mics and soon got the attention of fellow country artists Chris Stevers and Billy Boyles. He started playing regularly with them, and now has branched off with the Zack Stiltner Band, featuring guitarist Boyles, drummer Mike Fletcher and bassist Bob Bielski. They were recently in Nashville recording an EP, which they hope to expand into a full album. From there, he plans to take it on the road, hoping to be the next country star. "Country music is real songs about real people," he said. "It speaks to me. It speaks to everyone really, even if they don't even realize it."
