Hilton Head Island postal food drive to help nonprofit groups

info@islandpacket.comMay 1, 2013

Food collected May 11 on Hilton Head Island during the National Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive will go to The Deep Well Project and Second Helpings.

Residents are asked to leave a bag of nonperishable food beside their mailbox, and letter carriers will pick it up.

Deep Well provides emergency financial assistance and food for those in need. Second Helpings distributes leftover food from restaurants, resorts, caterers and grocery stores to feed the needy.

The Island Packet is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
