A 39-year-old Port Royal woman was charged with aggravated domestic violence after she attacked her husband with a baseball bat, according to a news release from the Port Royal Police Department.

Alicia Renee Adderley was charged Tuesday after the alleged attack Saturday on her 36-year-old husband at a car wash on Parris Island Gateway.

The victim told police she confronted him outside the car wash at 4 p.m. after they had fought about why he had left their home. She hit him with the bat several times, the release said.

The victim was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his hand, arms and mouth. He has since been released.

Adderley was released from the Beaufort County Detention Center on her own recognizance.
