Five Beaufort County Board of Education members who represent parts of Bluffton and Okatie are holding a town hall meeting Tuesday.

The meeting, which will be from 6 to 8 p.m., is designed to solicit feedback from residents on education issues.

Board vice-chairwoman Mary Cordray, board secretary Laura Bush and members Evva Anderson, Geri Kinton and Paul Roth will discuss key actions the board has taken thus far this year and look ahead to topics that are likely to come up over the next three months.

Three board members representing Hilton Head Island had a similar town hall meeting last week. At that meeting, nearly 20 parents and community members discussed the use of grade floors, the International Baccalaureate program and communication between school officials and parents was discussed.

Check back with The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette for a full story after the meeting and follow reporter Tom Barton at twitter.com/IPBG_Tom.
