Don't sell women short on election concerns

info@islandpacket.comApril 26, 2013

Your sensational headline on Sunday asked a sexist question: Will women vote for Sanford?

Why do you think women's concerns are different than men's? It is insulting when you imply that women are more interested in tabloid journalism than a candidate's record and qualifications to represent the conservative voters in the 1st District. Sanford was rated No. 1 in Congress by Citizens Against Government Waste and the National Taxpayer's Union for his efforts to limit federal spending and taxation. When Sanford was governor, the CATO Institute rated him the most financially conservative governor in America.

Do you think women don't care about fiscal issues? They do. Women's votes will not be bought by liberal PAC dollars from Washington and New York or swayed by slanted newspaper stories with incorrect information and negative TV ads. Give women the respect they deserve. This race is about Election Day, not Judgment Day.
