Slower US 278 drivers should keep to right

info@islandpacket.comApril 25, 2013

To the writer concerned about tailgating: SC Code 56-5-1810 (b) requires drivers traveling slower than "normal" traffic to yield to the right. It is not the place of a driver to hold to the "legal" or slower limit and thus interfere with the even flow of faster-moving traffic. A driver should not presume to block traffic and increase the possibility of tailgating and weaving through traffic as drivers try to work their way around. Driving safety handbooks emphasize this "slower drivers keep to the right" policy. Don Wixted Beaufort
