A town committee will review how the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce plans to spend town money at a Thursday meeting.

The chamber was awarded $1.4 million from the Town of Hilton Head Island to promote the island in the 2013-2014 fiscal year. The organization serves as the official marketing arm of the town and is estimated to serve more than 500,000 visitors in 2013.

The town's Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee will review the chamber's expenditure budget at 1 p.m. in town hall council chambers.
