The local nonprofit organization No More Diabetes Foundation is hosting an essay contest for children with the condition. The three winning essayists will get to attend Camp Adam Fisher, a camp in Summerton for children with diabetes, their siblings and friends. Essays should include when the children were diagnosed, how they control their diabetes, how their families support them and why they should be chosen to go to the camp.

The foundation works to raise awareness of type 1 diabetes.

The deadline to enter the essay contest is May 30.
