Hunger and Homeless Coalition thanks Jim Smith and Walgreens

letters@islandpacket.comApril 24, 2013

The Hunger and Homeless Coalition would like to thank Jim Smith and Walgreens for caring about the children of Beaufort County.

Their generous contribution to Walgreens and the snack pantry at Hilton Head Elementary School means the pantry can be accessed by any teacher whose students are in need of a snack during the school day.

Jim Smith's action as a community leader, combined with Walgreens' generosity, lets the Hunger and Homeless Coalition provide children a nutritional snack during the day.

The Hunger and Homeless Coalition was founded in response to needs that often go unnoticed. This generous donation has helped us move closer to being a community that provides well for our most vulnerable citizens -- our children.

With the commitments Jim Smith and Walgreens have made and the continued support of the community, the Hunger and Homeless Coalition will continue its mission of making sure there are no hungry or homeless members of the Hilton Head community. We are grateful for your support.
