Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island thanks Hargray Caring Coins Foundation

letters@islandpacket.comApril 24, 2013

The board, staff and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island express their sincere thanks to the Hargray Caring Coins Foundation for its grant to our summer school program.

With these funds we will be able to furnish scholarships to our neediest members for two hours each day for eight weeks in Compass Learning and other computer-based learning programs that will close their "summer gap" in academic skills. These members will also be able to participate in high yield learning activities that supplement academics and offer an opportunity to learn and grow in different ways.

Summer is a busy and demanding time for our program, our staff and the hard-working parents of Hilton Head who count on our program to fill the vacation hours of their children with quality activities. We try to make the educational time enjoyable and interesting.

The support of Caring Coins is crucial to our needs as a youth services provider. Thanks also go out to all the Hargray customers who contribute to their community efforts.

We expect another summer of great results.
