Thank you to police officers for roadside assistance

info@islandpacket.comApril 24, 2013

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Officers Puryear and Simpson, who came to my rescue early April 7.

On my way to the Beaufort Gazette distribution center in Shell Point, my truck got a flat tire. Officer Puryear arrived first, assessed the situation and managed to get my spare tire down from under my truck (a feat that I have never attempted). Later, Officer Simpson arrived and assisted in jacking up the truck, as well as going to find air for my deflated spare tire before being called away. This left Officer Puryear to actually change the tire and get me on my way.

I truly appreciate how these officers went beyond my expectations. They managed to keep the situation light with little jokes and got me moving relatively quickly. Again, I would like to say thank you.
