Traffic delayed on U.S. 278 due to crash, disabled vehicle

info@islandpacket.comApril 24, 2013

Traffic on U.S. 278 was delayed Wednesday morning by a crash and a disabled vehicle.

The two-car crash happened at U.S. 278 and Gateway Village Road -- the stoplight near Target -- according to Beaufort County Emergency Management.

The second cause of delay is a disabled vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the bridge to Hilton Head Island, according to county emergency management.

As of about 9:20 a.m. the wreck and the disabled vehicle are no longer blocking lanes, but traffic was still moving slowly.
