A Burton man has been charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine after Beaufort County sheriff's deputies found drugs and paraphernalia while executing an arrest warrant, according to a report released Tuesday.

Deputies arrested Quadell Tevin Singleton, 21, on Friday after a foot chase on Possum Hill Road. According to the report, Singleton ran from deputies and threw a pill bottle into the woods along the road before he was caught. With a canine unit, deputies found the bottle, which contained 6.7 grams of cocaine and 1.6 grams of methamphetamine, the report said.

Deputies also found three digital scales, a box of sandwich bags and tweezers in a canopy-like shelter where Singleton was sitting before he ran from them, authorities say.

According to the report, Singleton had an outstanding warrant for failure to stop for blue lights and fleeing to evade police.
