Beaufort County Council is set to review a request for increased funding by the solicitor's office and a plan for the Bluffton Parkway-Buckwalter Parkway intersection at its 5 p.m. meeting today.

14th Circuit Solicitor Duffie Stone has requested an additional $152,000 to help fund his office through June 30. Council's Finance Committee has unanimously recommended the additional funding be approved.

Plans for the Bluffton Parkway-Buckwalter Parkway intersection have been the subject of some debate in recent months. At a March meeting, Council sent the plans back to a subcommittee to review.

Council will also consider a design contract for a new segment of the Spanish Moss Trail, the biking and walking trail that currently runs between Depot and Allison roads in Beaufort.

The meeting will be held in County Council chambers at 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort. Click here for the full agenda.
