First Congressional District candidate Elizabeth Colbert Busch will visit several locations Saturday in northern Beaufort County.

The Democrat will meet with business leaders, residents and Port Royal mayor Sam Murray.

The events are:

  • 9 a.m.: Community breakfast at the Penn Center, 16 Penn Center Circle, St. Helena Island
  • 11 a.m.: Port Royal Farmers Market, 1615 Ribaut Road, Port Royal
  • 1 p.m.: Blackstone's Cafe, 205 Scott St., Beaufort. Colbert Busch will have lunch with members of the Lowcountry Economic Alliance and business leaders, and then plans to answer questions from the media about job creation.
  • 2:30 p.m.: Soft Shell Crab Festival, 14th St. and Paris Ave., Port Royal. Colbert Busch will walk through the festival with Murray.
"I'm excited to meet and speak with residents and business leaders of Beaufort County, because everywhere I go, the people of South Carolina tell me about the need to create more good-paying jobs and get our country's fiscal house back in order," Colbert Busch said in a statement. "As a businesswoman for 25 years, I know the importance of putting our fiscal house in order and creating good jobs in South Carolina's Lowcountry and Coastal Communities."
