Cars, bikes targeted in Beaufort thefts

Two bicycles were stolen and three unlocked cars were broken into Monday night on Tuscarora Avenue in Beaufort, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The owner of one of the cars reported two pairs of sunglasses stolen, one of them a $200 pair of Costa del Mar sunglasses.

The owner of the other car reported that a $250 pair of black and pink Costa del Mar sunglasses were stolen.

Two children's bicycles worth a total of $575 were stolen after they were left outside of a garage overnight, the report said.

A third car also was broken into on the street, but it was not immediately clear whether anything was stolen from it.
