Research candidates, vote in special election

info@islandpacket.comApril 17, 2013

Now that we have spent a large amount of taxpayer money on the Democratic and Republican primaries, I hope every voter in the 1st Congressional District wakes up and votes May 7. The abysmal turnout for the primaries is a disgrace.

We have a clear choice this time. There are so many important issues. We have over a month to learn about the two candidates and decide who will best represent all the people -- men, women, and children.

I urge every voter to listen to these candidates, not just sound bites in TV ads. Go to their websites, attend their talks, research well. Otherwise, you have no right to complain if you don't like the outcome. Vote.
