Low-cost rabies clinics scheduled

The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control has scheduled several low-cost rabies clinics in Beaufort County this weekend:

Saturday: 8 to 11 a.m., Beaufort County Animal Shelter, Beaufort; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 154-B Robert Smalls Parkway, Beaufort; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Port Royal Veterinarian Hospital; 9 a.m. to noon, Battery Creek Vet Hospital; 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., St. Helena Fire Station No. 22.

Sunday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Port Royal Veterinarian Hospital.

Vaccination fees vary, but won't exceed $10, a DHEC news release said. Dogs must be on a leash and cats in a box or carrier.
