USC Beaufort men's golf team finishes 10th in Florida tournament

The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team was unable to make a move during Tuesday's final round in Sebring, Fla., finishing 10th in the Sun Conference Spring Major hosted by Warner at Sun 'N' Lake Golf Club.

The Sand Sharks shot 301 in the final round to finish the 54-hole event at 901. Johnson & Wales claimed the team title at 861, five shots ahead of St. Thomas and 15 clear of Southeastern. SCAD Savannah (890) was fourth, followed by Embry-Riddle (891), Northwood (893), Thomas (894), Warner (895) and Webber International (898).

Junior Owen Bell (72-73-77--222) was USCB's top finisher in a tie for 19th. Freshman Cory Cottrell (74-78-74--226) and senior Travis Cashion (77-74-75--226) tied for 30th, followed by junior Brian Langley (75-77-76--228) in a tie for 33rd and sophomore Andrew McCullough (77-80-76--233) in a tie for 42nd.

Next up for the Sand Sharks is the Sun Conference Championship from April 28-30 at Mystic Dunes Resort in Orlando, Fla.
