The Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island will host an event that teaches children ages 4 to 6 the principles of home and traffic safety for the second time this year, according to a news release.

Safety Town will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 25 at Hilton Head Island High School.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, Town of Hilton Head Island Fire and Rescue Division and the Hilton Head Island Regional Health Center will work with children at the "mini town." The program includes riding go-karts to learn traffic rules, identifying household hazards in a "hazard house," and a session to make children more comfortable around emergency and hospital personnel.

Pre-registration is required. The form is available online at hiltonheadrotary.org. It can also by requested by email at hrotary@sc.twcbc.com and in person at local schools, the release said.
