BASEBALL

Hilton Head Island 17, Orangeburg-Wilkinson 1, 5 innings: The Seahawks (13-4, 7-1 Region 8-AAA) racked up 19 hits with every player who batted collecting at least one.

Michael Perez was 2 for 2 with a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored, while Storm Grisham had two hits, including a two-run double.

Marlin Clark pitched two innings, allowing an unearned run, and Lincoln Fuller retired the final nine men straight on 27 pitches. In all the Seahawks retired the final 14 men in a row.

Hilton Head Island plays at Hanahan on Wednesday.

Whale Branch 17, Estill 1, 4 innings: Jay Delaney allowed three hits and a run while striking out six over four innings to get the win for the Warriors. He also doubled and drove in two at the plate.

Tim Campbell added a double and two RBIs for Whale Branch (7-2 Region 5-A), which plays at 6 p.m. Thursday at Allendale-Fairfax.

Beaufort High 7, Colleton County 2: Stephen Baggett hit his second grand slam in as many games to lead the Eagles to the win.

Beaufort High's Alex Silon, Carson Gregory and Chris Tealy had two hits and an RBI apiece.

Gregory pitched six innings for the win. He struck out eight.

The Eagles (11-6) play at Ashely Ridge today.

Battery Creek 22, Burke 0, 3 innings: Winning pitcher Aaron Brantley struck out four in two innings and Craig Capano fanned two in an inning of relief as the Dolphins shut out Burke.

Battery Creek's Thomas Smith had two hits in the same inning, finishing with three runs scored and two RBIs.

BOYS TENNIS

Hilton Head Prep 5, Bluffton 1: The Dolphins improved to 8-1 with the win.

Up next, Hilton Head Prep gets a chance to avenge its only loss of the season when Porter-Gaud visits Wednesday.
