A speaker on leadership trained more than 100 town of Bluffton and public-safety employees from more than 10 local agencies last week, according to a news release.

Stephen Gower, who has addressed the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Sheriffs Association multiple times, gave the presentation Thursday to a smaller group because she is friends with Bluffton Police Chief Joey Reynolds, the release said.

Gower's training focused on the differences between management and leadership.

"We train a lot on our examples of power; however, we train very little about the power of our examples," Reynolds said.
