Know any good attorneys?

Beaufort County is hiring for a staff attorney to assist county attorney Josh Gruber on myriad legal issues that arise on a daily basis.

The full-time position is being advertised in The Island Packet, The Beaufort Gazette and other publications. Gruber said the county won't need a supplemental budget increase to fund the newly-created position, which he hopes to fill within three months.

"This will allow Beaufort County to address more issues that come up on a day-to-day basis in an in-depth manner, which will allow for responses in a timely manner," Gruber said in an email.

"Additionally, having a second attorney on staff will allow for more continuity as well as allowing for my office to address all situations as they arise," he continued.

A pay scale for the position was not announced. Gruber said the salary will depend on experience.
