Crocker, crew capture overall title at Ribault Cup sailing regatta

The Ribault Cup sailing regatta saw its largest turnout this past weekend as 19 boats took to Port Royal Sound in excellent sailing conditions.

When the results of the Spinnaker and Racing classes were combined, the overall winner was Roy Crocker and his crew of Joe Sistino and Ken Cummings on his Marshall 22 Catboat True Love.

The first 15-mile long race started off Hilton Head Island, went out to the Atlantic Ocean and then back to Hilton Head. The second race, 11 miles long, started off Hilton Head and went up the Beaufort River to the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club.


Overall: 1. True Love, Captain Roy Crocker

Cruising Class: 1. Adagio, Captain John Mahoney; 2. Blue Jacket, Captain Dick Nalawsky; 3. Sweet Thing, Captain John Payne

Racing Class: 1. True Love, Captain Roy Crocker; 2. Prime Meridian, Captain Julian Levin; 3. Dress White, Captain Mark Schuster.

Spinnaker Class: 1. Relative Angle, Captain John Potter; 2. Loki, Captain Ricky Akers; 3. II Salty Dogs, Captain John Fisk.
