Bluffton Self Help grateful to Hilton Head Middle School for Area in Motion event

info@islandpacket.comApril 7, 2013

Bluffton Self Help extends a heartfelt thank you to Melissa Ledbetter and the students of Hilton Head Middle School for organizing the awesome community event, Area in Motion Community Walk. AIM sponsored the walk-run event to raise awareness about physical health and well-being. In addition to gathering the community together in shared physical activity, Melissa encouraged students and participants to donate nonperishable food for the pantries of Bluffton Self Help and The Deep Well Project. More than 3,000 items of food were collected.

As a participant in the Community Walk with my own children, I was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and dedication from the students and their families. Excitement, music and laughter filled the air while neighbors walked, ran and danced. Thank you for a wonderful day, and thank you for being a vital part of our community. We look forward to next year's Community Walk.
