EVENTS

  • An Earth Day celebration will be held 4-7 p.m. April 19 in the Habersham Market Place. The event will feature art created from recycled materials by the Boys & Girls Club, Riverview Charter School, E. C. Montessori School, Shanklin Elementary School and Calvary Baptist Church Christian Academy Homeschoolers Association. Graduate students from the University of South Carolina's art education department will judge the artwork entries. Students from Battery Creek High School also will participate, including members of the school's Students Against Destructive Decisions and drama clubs. The high school's arts department will paint a mural. The Habersham Marketplace is at 13 Market St., off Joe Frazier Road in Beaufort. Details: www.habershamgreencommittee.org

  • HELPING HANDS

  • Spanish I classes will collect soccer equipment and personal hygiene items through April 19 to donate to residents in migrant camps. Details: 843-524-3393

  • The Dreamers, the school's storytelling troupe, will perform 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday on the center stage at the 2013 Beaufort Intergalactic Storytelling Festival at Beaufort Town Center. The performance is free and open to the public. Details: www.beaufortcountyarts.com

  • HOLY TRINITY CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • Members of the Parris Island Marine Corps Band will perform at the school at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
