USC Beaufort women's golf team in 4th place at LPGA International

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team posted a team score of 335 on Saturday and is in fourth place after the first round of the Embry-Riddle Bash at the Beach at LPGA International.

NCAA Division II power Lynn shot 319 and holds a 10-shot lead over SCAD Savannah, the top-ranked team in the NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Seventh-ranked Embry-Riddle is in third at 331, and the No. 13 Sand Sharks are another four shots back.

Senior Phyllis Langley led the way for USCB in the first round with a 10-over-par 82 and is tied for 10th. Junior Kendra Collins (83) is tied for 13th, senior Kelli Nakano (85) and sophomore Samantha O'Donnell (85) are tied for 20th, and sophomore Tori DeGroodt (89) is tied for 37th.

The final round begins at 8 a.m. Sunday.
