Colbert Busch explains absence discrepancy

Elizabeth Colbert Busch's campaign explained discrepancies between comments she had made to the media and her financial filings with the U.S. House of Representatives.

Colbert Busch had told reporters in February she was on a leave of absence from her job as the director of business development for Clemson University's Wind Turbine Drive Testing Facility in North Charleston so she could campaign. But in federally-required filings, she had said her unpaid leave of absence did not begin until March 27.

He campaign explained Thursday she used earned vacation time before going on unpaid leave time.
