Prep Roundup, April 4: Hilton Head High baseball team falls to Walhalla

Walhalla beat Hilton Head Island, 8-2, to hand the Seahawks their second straight loss in the Seahawks Baseball Invitational on Wednesday at Hilton Head Island High School.

Among the few bright spots for the Seahawks, who tallied just four hits and made four errors, were Storm Grisham, who went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, and Charles Lively, who drove in two runs. Andrew Dill took the loss on the mound.

In Wednesday's other games, Pulaski County (Ky.) beat Fort Dorchester 5-3, Dobyns Bennett beat Hillcrest 16-1 and Richmond County (N.C.) beat Corbin (Ky.) 11-2.

With bad weather forecast for Thursday, there will be two games pushed back to Friday.

Walhalla, 1-3 in the tournament, will face Pulaski, 2-1, at 9 a.m.. The two unbeaten teams at 3-0, Dobyns Bennett and Richmond County, will face of afterward for the championship.

Dobyns Bennett has 63 hits and 46 runs in three tournament games, while Richmond County has won 14 straight games.

Fort Dorchester finishes the tournament 0-3, while Hillcrest and Corbin finish 1-2.

LACROSSE POSTPONED

The boys lacrosse playoff match between Hilton Head Island and Wando scheduled for Thursday will instead be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wando.
