AARP announces 1st Congressional District candidate debate

A 1st Congressional District candidate debate between either Mark Sanford or Curtis Bostic -- whoever wins today's Republican runoff -- and Democratic nominee Elizabeth Colbert Busch has been scheduled for 8 p.m. April 17 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The debate, organized by AARP South Carolina, will be broadcast live on WCBD-TV and moderated by anchor Carolyn Murray.

The public is invited to attend. Seating will be on a first-come first-serve basis beginning at 6 p.m. at MUSC's Bioegineering Building.

The is the first announced televised debate in the general election cycle. The election is May 7.
