Tax-aid program changes library date

info@islandpacket.comApril 1, 2013

The AARP tax-aid program has changed its schedule for services provided at the Bluffton library.

The tax-preparations services will be from 1 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and on April 15. The service planned for April 10 at the library, at 120 Palmetto Way, has been canceled because the library will be closed that day.

The program helps prepare tax returns for low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older, and also helps file taxes electronically.

No appointment is necessary.

Bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, W-2 forms, 1099 forms, 1098 forms, along with information about real estate and personal property deductions, medical expenses and insurance, charitable contributions, and estimated tax payments. If filing a joint return, both parties must be present to sign the return.
