Bostic has no excuse for hiding his finances

info@islandpacket.comMarch 29, 2013

Your March 27 front-page headline about Mark Sanford distracts from the point that he filed an honest disclosure of legitimately earned income, while Curtis Bostic has failed to complete his.

Bostic's request for an extension on the filing deadline means that his disclosure will not be available to the voters, not just until after the Republican primary runoff, but also not until after the special election in May.

It is interesting that Sanford and Elizabeth Colbert Busch were able to file their information, but the forms were too complicated for Bostic to complete.Bostic also has declined several opportunities to face Sanford in open forums.

The story's headline could be construed as an "endorsement" for Bostic. But the real issue is why Bostic is keeping his finances and political views hidden from the voters.
