Beaufort County upgrades website with new facility rental, map and code information

info@islandpacket.comMarch 28, 2013

Several recent changes to the Beaufort County government website are designed to make it easier for users to locate information.

The county has changed icons on right hand column on the homepage at www.bcgov.net. A calendar icon links to not only to a calendar of county events, but also to rental forms and applications for library meeting rooms, PALS gymnasiums, ball fields, pools and more. Rentals can be completed online.

The mapping section of the site, accessible through an icon on the right hand column of the homepage, has also been updated. An enhanced tool allows users to select multiple Geographic Information Service records, a new Pictometry tool with up-to-date photographs, and tools allowing the user to mark maps with graphics and text or bookmark predetermined areas.

The county has also added information about the Community Development Code to the site, which can be found in the slider picture section in the middle of the homepage.

The Island Packet is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
