Diabetes association sends wake-up call

Today marks the 25th Annual American Diabetes Association Alert Day -- a one-day wake-up call asking people to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

Tests are available at these locations today:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Port Royal Medical Center, 1320 Ribaut Road, Port Royal. Also offering free blood-glucose screenings.

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists, 300 New River Parkway, Suite 21, Hardeeville.
