Airport Tournament: The Hilton Head Island High School girls soccer team captured the championship of the Airport tournament, going 4-0 in the two-day event, which was shortened by bad weather in Columbia on Saturday.

The Seahawks defeated Fort Dorchester, 7-0, and Chapin, 4-0, on Friday in a pair of dominating wins.

Because of the poor conditions Saturday, the semifinals of the tournament were limited to 30 minutes. The Seahawks gave up a fluke goal to Webster Grove of St. Louis, but scored with less than a minute remaining to send the game to a penalty kick shootout. The Seahawks won that, 4-2, to advance to the championship against Augusta Prep.

The teams didn't play a full game in the final, instead going directly to a shootout. Hilton Head High defeated Augusta Prep 5-2 on kicks.

"They did a great job. We really limited them, pretty much, to no shots on goal," Seahawks coach Ernie Suozzi said, referring to Friday's shutouts. "And if it had been a dry day, the last two games would have been the same way."

The Seahawks, who improved to 11-1 if Saturday's two games are counted, host Berkeley on Tuesday.
