County offers water safety instructor course

Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services will hold an American Red Cross water safety instructor course beginning next week at the Beaufort indoor swimming pool at 35 Youmans Drive.

Participants must be 16 years of age by April 1, 2013. All students must pass a prerequisite swimming assessment.

Class dates are as follows: 4 to 8 p.m. March 28; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29 and 30; and 4 to 8 p.m. April 1.

The cost is $160. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification for American Red Cross water safety instruction.
