Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services will hold an American Red Cross lifeguard course in April at the Beaufort Indoor Swimming Pool, 35 Youmans Drive, Beaufort.

Participants must be at least 15 years old by April 14 and take a pre-requisite swim assessment before being accepted into the class held at 3 p.m. March 26.

Only the first 12 participants who pass the assessment will be eligible for each class.

Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 1 to 4; 3 to 8 p.m. April 10 to 12; 8 to 5 p.m. April 13; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 14.

Registration is $160. Those who successfully complete the class will receive certification for American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid, CPR PR, and AED, which will remain active for two years.
