U.S. Congress itself should be sequestered

info@islandpacket.comMarch 21, 2013

Some members of Congress want to rename their recesses "district work periods."

Congress has a lot of unusual names for things, such as calling its inability to reach a budget the "sequester."

It comes from the Latin word "sequestrare," which means to remove or separate -- e.g., Congress is sequestered from reality.

Ego makes them entitled to a job with great pay and benefits, even though they don't do the job the American worker expects of them.

They should have the morals to follow the lead of Pope Benedict XVI, who abdicated because he felt he could no longer do the job.

Let's sequester Congress.
